TO THE END AND A NEW BEGINNING

It is official!

Chinese New Year 2012 has come to an end.

What awaits is another year of desperate measures to stay sane and find a life amidst the crazy pile of work.

I think I did pretty well for the first month - so far, I have successfully ditched work during my few days of holiday, touching only the minor stuff that has to be settled.

My new year resolution is to find balance.

I think my transition from student to a working adult has been rough and perhaps, at 24 going on 25, it is time to settle down and accept the bloody damn fact that YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BE A STUDENT ANYMORE.

But what the heck, I am still going to live young at heart - just a bit more practical and ahem...mature??

So in order to meet my resolution, I have a few lines drawn out as part of my plan.
Here's what I've planned out for 2012.

T.R.I.P.P.I.N.G
March - Sabah (work trip but not a 'serious' serious trip)
Someway in May - Malacca or Bali again maybe
And July - Phuket
If I have cash to spare, I'd go Australia too.

So ya, trips are very important because besides music, travelling and writing are two of my biggest passion.
And part of balance means I need to screw working and do things I love.
See, trying to crap this post is also a challenge.
I used to have much more to pen about and now, writing is like squeezing juice out of a squeezed beyond squeeze lemon.

N.O. W.O.R.K S.A.T.U.R.D.A.Y. Policy
So I've decided to dedicate Saturdays to myself and no work (unless, really necessary - and I myself, shall define that when the time comes).
I think Saturdays should be TV series or movie days - and work will all be done on Sundays. Heck, if I don't feel like it, screw Sunday.
p/s: I have a feeling that Dean Winchester has influenced a lot of my vocabulary.

Anyway,
Yep, the above two actions that I will take in my pursuance of life balance.
Of course other things would include hanging out with friends, family and also doing crazy stuff alone.
I shall see how long I'll be able to stick to this awesome plan of mine. I'm still at the right state of mind at the moment due to the jovial festive season mood; who knows which demonic stress would possess me in the coming weeks. (Too much Supernatural influence)

Since Chinese New Year 2012 has finally draw its curtains closed, here are my 2012 CNY highlights:

1. Doing nothing on the First day of CNY: Really, the first day felt like just another holiday and it was really dull. Previous traditions of house-visiting has practically evaporated together with the innocence of my childhood.

It's ok, I'm creating a new tradition - doing nothing on First Day.

2. Third day of CNY: Dinner at Ku Ku Che's house. New Tradition!

3. Day 4: Visiting Hui Hsien in the hospital. She was down because of dengue and her bruises scare the crap out of me.

4. Day 6: Gathering and house-visiting with good-old college friends. Had a blast! It is always great catching up.

5. Last day of CNY: Drove all the way with colleague and boss up the hill for seafood and lamb!

All in all, a great start for 2012!
February is going to be quite a month. Have a friend's wedding reception coming up and so, a lot to look forward too. :)

To my next post, cheers!

With Love
Tammy C
