THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BEING A MUM AND A KID
I was coming back from my swim and I saw this cute little boy throwing rubbish.
So CUTE!
Kids.
Always cute.
Always adorable.
They are the only one thing that can make you do almost anything.
I'm a very pro-kid person. I enjoy hanging out with kids - because they are fun and they are innocent.
They do things regardless of the consequences, heck, because sometimes, they don't even know what are the consequences, except for that mum and dad are going to give a real good spanking on the you-know-where.
I guess that's the beauty of being a kid or a child.
You are allowed to make mistakes and get away with it most of the time.
People are not as hard on you as they will be if you are a full-grown organism.
Kids think out of the box and they are allowed to.
If we come out with something out of the world - people say we are immature;
But kids, well, like I said - they are adorable.
The thing is, sometimes, we should learn from children because no matter how cliche this is, imagination is the key to success! And kids have that.
Although I am so into kids, I can hardly picture myself with my own.
I saw a friend of mine post some photos of her and her new baby girl and I saw a series of photos with her in her new role as a mum.
It fascinates me how a friend, who used to be my classmate, is now a mum!
Memories of her and I were in our classroom, at the age of 12, struggling with UPSR and now, she is a mum.
At 25, I still managed to maintain part of my kiddy mentality and behaving like a kid (although the creative part, I've lost 90%)
But for some of my friends, life kinda got a tad serious, with a heavy responsibility to take care of an offspring!
Seriously, call me delusional, but until today, I do not feel like I am an adult. Sometimes, I refer myself as a 'teen'.
Can you believe it? My brain doesn't register that given another 5 years, I'll be friggin' 30!
(And perhaps that's why I never rush getting a date. Because I feel like I am SO YOUNG! Laugh all you want but it is actually a huge problem.)
Sometimes I wonder, what would I be like if I had taken a different road - a road where I pursued a family instead of well, drifting along with doing things for myself hahaha. Can't imagine that really.
I dread to think about taking care of kids to be honest. It is so difficult! I mean, playing with them is the easy part, but making sure that they are well fed, properly educated with no swear words in their vocabulary until say maybe 15?, making sure that they don't do drugs, smoke, mix with the wrong group, don't get bullied?
Being a mum is not just taking care of the baby or child - from the photos, I feel like it's carrying the burden of the whole family on your shoulder. The mum is always the one anyone turn to for solutions.
Correction: Perhaps being a mother is not difficult, but being a good mother is.
If I were a mum, I think my baby would probably have to take care of me. *shuddering* Ya...that would be scary.
And I am seriously praying that I won't lose my kids, like how I lost my two phones in one month.
So I guess I'll stay with my role of being the cool naughty big sister who approves all your naughty acts just so she can have a good laugh hehehe.
This post is dedicated to all mothers, especially my friends who have become mothers.
You are all too awesome; what you girls are doing, not everyone can.
Love
