'GYMTASTIC' BABY

Now I am kinda addicted to treadmills (not sure when I will get sick of it yet).

My new gym regime is more than fun - keeps me active and very alive. I can stay till 3am and still survive the next day. I know, I know - I wouldn't say it is good for health though, but I really feel more energetic. I guess it also helps me in straightening my thoughts and thinking about things in a different way. I'm either more patient now, or maybe, I'm just not as stressed out as I previously was.

But yes, going to gym after work everyday really makes you feel better.

I am a couch potato really, since young. But nevertheless, I was never really a weakling, just clumsy and heavy all the time. Besides, I am a workaholic who would always prioritise my work before anything else and so, exercising after work used to be OUT OF MY LIST.

I am no expert when it comes to exercise, heck, but I really do think that even laze-bags like us need to get up on our a** sometimes because once you get the hang of it, you will really enjoy it.

Here are my tips to get started (and really, if someone as lazy as me can start, I think you can too!):

1. Find a Gym Partner (best one who insist on losing weight)
Most important I think is to find someone to go to the gym with you. Find someone who is very crazy about gym, someone who will drag you up and down the stairs if they have to in order to get you to exercise with them. Yes, a motivated gym partner is necessary to kick-start this. Also, I believe that one shouldn't find one that intimidates them, as I believe if you find someone who keep telling you how fat you are or how beautiful they are, you will feel so annoyed to be exercising with them. For me, I'll get one of those weights and shut them up. Just saying...

But I'm glad so I found my boss, Stefani as my gym partner.
We complement each other - she is excited to shed some pounds and I am currently addicted to the treadmill. Of course, I'd say that I'm the more 'dedicated' one, but without her, I won't have the urge to visit the gym at all.

2. Find a Good Gym
The definition of good gym? - Well, of course it would help to have hot guys around, but NO, that does not define a good gym hahaha. For me, a good gym should have all working equipments, especially one that can measure your calories. It is motivating when you see the 'calorie' digits increasing as you work the treadmill belt. Trust me, you won't feel as guilty eating your next meal. Like me, I really wallop everything, regardless of diet. Hahahaha, like I repeatedly say, I go to the gym because I want to be able to continue enjoying my food! The best part is, I feel super good!

Another factor in determining a good gym is one that is accessible and near to you. I am fortunate because Stef's house is so near the office and her gym is awesome. I mean, if we had to  travel further for exercise, I'm sure it will definitely be more discouraging and a factor to not want to go after work.

3. Music!
It is not impossible to work-out without music but it makes the whole process a much more enjoyable one. See, when I am on the treadmill, I just need to watch 6 music videos and I'm on it for almost 20 minutes. Seriously, what is 6 music videos if I'm watching the hot Taeyang sing and dance? Plus, I dance along while walking. It is actually fun!

4. Get a Trainer
I started with a trainer to teach me basic warm ups and also workouts. It helps as you will slowly learn how to work those abs and muscles. Of course, I don't know now as I am basically just doing what I've been told, but I bet slowly, I'll get the hang of it. Push ups, squats, lifts, deadlocks, you name it - all of these had had a share in making my body suffer for at least one week before. I'm glad now my body is so much more used to it. My trainer has helped get me started and motivated as I feel obliged as I have paid money! Unless of course if you don't care about $ then you can leave it to burn. Having a trainer also helps you keep in check on whether what you're doing is correct or are you hurting your body.

5. Think "screw work"
Even if you love your job so much, place exercise on top. You know why? After exercising, you'll have more energy to work and your brain functions even better! Trust me, I didn't believe that previously, and that's why I was lazy. But now, when I am tired, I'd try to think, exercising will wake me up. Of course, it doesn't work all the time, but slowly it is working most of the time. So now, my practice is to leave office sharp and then work after gym. See, I can stay till 2am maximum.

All the above are my 'useful' gym tips. (I don't even know why I'm writing about gym hahaha...it is so not me!)

Stef and I have another upcoming project - Zumba dance!
Can't wait as I love dancing!!
