I HAD THE TIME OF MY LIFE FIGHTING DRAGONS WITH YOU

As a Taylor fan, I wasn't too pleased with what she offered in her latest album "Red". If previously, I like 90% of the songs in her album, "Red" only had 10% to offer. However, she still has some good tracks to offer in her previous albums. Long Live is one song from her album "Speak Now" that manages to capture the essence of her good writing and life, and one that is not about how guys broke her heart.

 

I would like to dedicate this song to all my best friends, my life "partners" who have always been there for me and who have gone through the best and worst moments with me in life. Although we were not "performers", we can relate to this song in many other ways - in which we have achieved many things together; although those moments are not grand to others, they sure were huge to us. Moments like graduating together, doing well in an assignment together, being able to win something together - all those will be preserved memories, just like in this song.

This verse is my favourite in the whole song. Because that is exactly what I wish for all my friends - that we will remember each other and the good times we shared together, which are fixated in film. If we ever part ways, for any reasons at all, I want them to know, I want the best for them, and their children as well, and I want them to be able to share our good times together with their children, just as I would with mine.
