The thing I like about Karaoke (yes, Karaoke) is not laughing at each other's singing but really, getting to learn new songs from the people you sing with. It is actually very interesting to listen to the various type of music selected by your friends - you learn a lot about them in a way.

My ex-client, Alex selected this song the other day at our company Karaoke session and I actually really like it. Don't judge. I know the song is so 2000 late. The title "Rainbow" itself sounds hopeful and you know it is the kind of song that comes with a beautiful meaning.

This song is about a guy who is about to die but he still wants to love the girl with all his heart. He wants to be her "rainbow" who can make her happy as long as he can. He hoped that the girl knows his love for her and that she will remember his love even though one day, he will no longer be the rainbow.

A special dedication as I write this to my grandmother who is fighting cancer. We know we will be losing her someday but we wish we had more time. This song perfectly describes her presence in the world. She is the rainbow to my dad and my aunts, and her grandchildren - I know she is a great mother to all her children, a good wife to my grandfather and a caring grandmother to us all. I am sure, she would sing this song to all of us now. She will always think of her children first and puts herself last.

Mothers, they are that noble. 

Even my mum... it is always the child before anything else.

Also, to all my friends and the people who have always been my rainbow and managed to make me smile at my lowest. As I mentioned earlier this year, my New Year resolution is to be able to help more people and be someone else's rainbow.
