IT'S AUGUST!
This month always feel super special to me since I am an August baby.
As I am writing this, I am not really in a fit condition though - been having some health problems since the past few days. I blame it on the lack of sleep really, and the haze, which made things worst. Keep feeling throat irritation and no appetite to really eat. It is really sad! Oh well, let's hope the sun shines brighter and I recover.
Looking back, July wasn't a bad month until we received some bad news about Grandma's health. She was diagnosed with nose cancer and all of us thought of the worst that could happen. But I realised that Grandma is a fighter because despite her discomfort, she can still manage smiles and stories. Whenever she starts with her ancient tales (from the Japanese invasion to how she gave birth to her 5 children), we would be happy again. Although her stories are repetitious, it really means that she is OK again, at least for that moment, she is back to being her talkative self.
I realised how strong a unit we are as a family and the support from the entire family was just touching. The doctor was also impressed with us and I was so proud. I could feel the warmth of the love given by our family heating up the hospital.
Well, grandma underwent an operation to remove her tumour and now she is on her way to recovery. The next stage however is Radiation, to kill of the rest of the cancer cells. I am praying for her recovering and we are all hopeful that she will be OK very soon.
Here is to grandma and her speedy recovery! Also, a warm welcome to my favourite month of the year.
