JUST AN EXCITING APRIL
It's been too long and April only saw one lonely and sad little post from me.
It's good I guess - it just means that April is a busy month; yes it is!
I anticipated it to be packed with excitement and I wasn't disappointed. It was a roller-coaster ride and things have been happening real fast and I lost track of a lot of things.
As always, life presents its fair share of ups and downs, and at this point, as I am writing this, all I am feeling is blessings.
It is always funny to look back a year ago and then laugh at the way you were thinking one year back and then realised how much you've changed.
This year, I am very lucky to have found something new in my life that gets me going.
Last year, I almost gave up on what I was doing because I was getting tired of doing something that I've lost my passion in. But I was given a new life with my new projects and right now, there's no place I'd rather be if I can continue to pursue my activities in this field.
So much things to be learned and so many interesting people to meet. The reason why I love this project is because I get to hear so many different stories and be inspired. I remember writing 3 pages about the stories of the few fighters in a job interview (I went to help a headhunter friend out) and I got the job offer, which I declined later on.
But it just shows how awesome those stories are that it manages to get people's attention.
No excuses, but I shall one day find time to write those stories in my blog!
Blessed in so many ways because I have such great people around me who is willing to be there for me and accept me for who I am.
A fast recap of April:
1. ONE Fighting Championship Singapore
Was anticipating this trip to Singapore since March and finally on the 3rd of April, me and 3 media representatives from Malaysia flew over to Singapore for the fights. It was awesome! Although I missed 70% of the fights (I had to arrange for media interviews backstage), I am very blessed to have the earpiece with me and I managed to listen to the colourful commentary that was just as exciting nonetheless. I can only imagine how awesome it was in there!
I managed to catch our very own Chen Yun Ting defeat Singaporean, Ronald Low and also Aoki's impressive win. The rest of the fights were just blurs here and there because I was running around. Nevertheless, I was super happy to be able to be part of the event.
2. Being Part of Malaysian Invasion Mixed Martial Arts
Who would have known that I'd be able to be working with Tune Talk's team and Jason Lo! Seriously, when I was a teenager, I spend most of my time admiring Jason Lo and listening to his music and dream of meeting him one day. Today, I can't believe that I am working with his team and is able to see him almost every other week.
MIMMA is another awesome experience for me as I was able to further delve into and learn about the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) sport.
I knew that April till June will be the busiest months for me due to the AGMs but I am so glad that I am able to sign onto this job because now, I love it so much!
I think being part of the MMA scene (although I do not train) has changed me in a way. I see things differently and I am even more motivated to stay fitter. Of course, I can still do better but I personally must say that my lifestyle is a lot better than before. But me being me, some habits are still hard to change.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank especially Fara and the Tune Talk team as they have been such awesome clients. You won't understand how touched I feel because they treat me so well. Made me feel so welcomed even on the first day itself. I am always that blessed! *touch wood*
3. Mum and her quest for a new refrigerator and now, phone
So my mum has been getting new stuff lately - first her refrigerator which she is overly protective of at first and now, she has been 'bugging' us about getting her a new phone. Dad being dad would not contribute anything because he believes in saving for something you want. Mum being mum is always being cheeky about finding ways to achieve her objectives. She suggested that her pocket money from me be invested in a phone (smart idea actually, why didn't anyone of us think of that). But she did give me a shock when she said she wanted the new Samsung SIV but I cleverly deviated her attention to a Samsung Mini SIII instead. Seriously, I am already broke down to the core and and S4 would mean another few months of poverty.
4. My new laptop
My boss is always generous on his birthday. 2 years ago, he got me a company phone on his birthday - it was an iPhone that I lost after 10 months. Guilty.
This year, he bought 5 of us new laptops (Ultrabooks)!
All I can say is, keep the tradition going boss!
5. Income Tax
I'd so give the person who created the income tax a rear naked choke if I know how to do it.
Why do we even need to pay taxes? Okay, even if we have to pay, why does it have to be that complicated? Screw you BE form!
Just saying thanks this month.
Looking forward to Singapore again in May and MIMMA in June!
With Love
Tammy
