CHRISTMAS IS LOVE

Merry Christmas 2014!

As I am writing this, I am feeling blessed and very thankful that once again, this year, I celebrated Christmas with a bunch of people I love. If last year was with my family, this year, I spent it with a bunch of people close enough to me to call my second family.

"Faith makes all things possible, hope makes all things work, love makes all things beautiful, May you have all three for this Christmas. Merry Christmas!!"

As I was showering after a great Christmas celebration, I realised how lucky I am as a person who feel so loved by so many people, that during festive seasons like these, I always have people I love around me to celebrate with. Not many are as lucky and I have heard of a lot of people who have to celebrate days like these alone. I am thankful that I always have great company and even if I am celebrating it myself sometimes, I do enjoy my own company (a lot haha).

This year, we had a real simple but lovely Christmas gathering at Stef's new house. Although we were busy on our phones posting photos (ahem), we shared some really great moments together laughing and playing with Mish, the cute Maltese owned by Kim, Stef's sister.

Stef is always better at gift wrapping

Our Christmas present exchange ceremony was also a memorable one - especially when Kim showed us her duct taped gifts as she has no cellotape supply to wrap her gifts. Then we all bought gifts for Mish and we were all trying to get Mish's attention by flanking our gifts in front of him. Poor Mish - he was so confused but I think he secretly enjoyed the love showered at him. He also looked super adorable in his Hawaiian t-shirt before he changed into his new Christmas outfit.

Did I mention the awesome food? Steak!!! And the amount of chocolate made the dinner such as sinful one!

If you are a Christian, I believe Christmas is special because it is Jesus's birthday and it is spiritual in many ways. But for some (by some, I really do mean me), Christmas goes beyond religion and worshiping God because in its very special way, just like any other festival, it brings people together and it is a celebration of love - love for God, love for family and love for friends. The gifts and presents are merely a gesture to really show our love. Of course, a good warm hug works just a great during Christmas because it means so much. Every year, Christmas gives me a reason to reminisce on the good times I share with these special people around me. Perhaps that's what God wants for us anyway.

I want to thank God for always looking out for me every year and for making this Christmas another special one. I will forever treasure the friendship I have with these people in years to come, although we never know what will happen in future. I have learned that everything is temporary, and if one day, fate brings us apart, I will forever treasure the memories made today with this group of people I love.

Next year, I wish to make more memories with more people, whom I love.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
