T-REVIEWS: LIONS, THE TRUTH, LANGUAGE & HEART
🦁: "The Lion King" movie pales miserably compared to the original cartoon due to its lack of humor and succinct dialogues that don't quite hit the spot. Soundtracks were butchered, key themes were vague. Yet, one still comes out entertained because of its history and - the Lions. Boy, do I love lions. The pros - I do love the voice-over talents, they were amazing, they should just keep the singing to Elton John. I also love the cinematography and how nature is portrayed. A reminder of the beauty of mother nature; that we are so blessed.
📚: "The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair" is a case of delicious side dishes served to cover for a mediocre main course. I felt the fantastic plot twists surrounding the characters is a facade for the meager main motive behind the murders.
📽: "Spanglish" is a classic love story that could cause severe tear duct leakage. Pav Vega and Adam Sandler turned a cliche unattainable love story into a heartwarming and tear jerking one, relatable for people whose head always gets better of the heart when it comes to love (what a breath of fresh air). Being responsible and good parents was what brought Adam Sandler and Paz Vega together, but it was also the reason why they can't be together. The irony. Also a great movie about the relationships between mothers and daughters.
📚: "Ghostheart" is a great read despite its predictable plot about a girl trying to step out of her comfort zone in life while figuring out what happened to her deceased father. But then the last 3 pages happened. Didn't saw that one coming.
