BEAUTIFUL DISASTER

Some people just don't see that they are worthy of love.
On the surface, some people seemed confident and okay, but who knows the insecurities that lies underneath beautiful skins.

I guess most of us 'ugly' people think that 'beautiful' people have it easy. They have the looks and all, and oh well, they always seemed to have the upper hand. I guess one thing I'll never understand is how beautiful people can feel that they have nothing. Haha. But I know it's wrong to think that because everyone feels insecure and will feel sad and will face problems, no matter what shapes and sizes we are.

It is sad everytime I see beautiful people (be it those with inner or outer beauty) feel that they are lacking in certain ways. Hmmm...I guess it's always hard to tell ourselves that we are good enough. But then there are some vain people who can't get over themselves and have inflated ego to think that they themselves are the best. Oh well, let's just say it's always hard to find that balance of not short-changing yourself but then not overly confident.

I love the song below because it tells a story about a beautiful girl who feels not good enough. It's about a girl who feels that no one loves her because of her imperfections. It's about how sometimes, we just wish that someone would tell us that it's okay to be ourselves.

As human, we always feel that our values lies in what is on the outside but forgetting that it is often what's in the inside that makes us special. I guess there are always moments when we feel so 'ugly' that we loses confidence and we do anything others tells us to just so that we feel better and feel 'beautiful' again. Then think again, are you happy being what others tell you or do you feel happier and more comfortable being who you really are?

I agree totally with the line "Every magazine tells her she's not good enough"
Try flippin' through magazines and you'll find hot babes with sexy bods rocking the covers or pages. But seriously, imagine how many people in real life can be like them. Celebrities can afford trainers and nutritionists to help them with their body but imagine a 15 year old struggling with insecurities - what will she end up doing just to be like those celebs.

Magazines are ideological whether you agree or not...and through these pictures, they tell us that to be deem pretty, you need to be like these hot people. I don't know if you notice but I am always seeing larger size celebs always end up losing weight and looking slim. Okay, I don't mind if some are just trying to live healthier, it's a good thing, but then some of them who are just vigorously working out just to look hot is again reinforcing the message that too look good, you need to be slim.

I believe that those gracing the front covers of teen or girl magazines should serve as role models to other girls, but mags are indirectly feeding us lies by touching up those pictures, making those hot dudes and babes look angelic and flawless. The truth is, nobody is flawless and when they mags make celebs look as if they are flawless, ordinary girls (or for that matter boys) feel the pressure to follow them stars in order to be likable.

I guess with this song, McLaughlin's message is that what defines 'beauty' is really a person who sets their own standards, and wouldn't compromise who they are just so they are accepted. So if your boyfriend asks you to get your boobs enlarged, just screw them and tell them to like your breasts just the way they are muahaha! Okay no kiddin'.

The song tells us a sad tale about a girl who is pressured to be beautiful, when she already is pretty. She just doesn't realized the beauty that is within her.

It's a song loving yourself and that everyone is beautiful in their own ways - we just don't know it. Beauty is not defined but what is on the outside, but actually who you are in the inside. Cliche but I really believe that it is the truth. I've been in situation where I think that the dude is so super hot but once I know him, oh man, I just don't see him as hot anymore. Seriously, believe me, it happens. Then there are some people who might not catch your attention at first, but once you know him/her, that person is just so beautiful. Hmmm I don't know about you but I'd really rather be the latter haha.

The song is by Jon McLaughlin (the hot dude who sang "So Close" for the Disney movie "Enchanted".

She loves her mama's lemonade,
Hates the sounds that goodbyes make.
She prays one day she'll find someone to need her.
She swears that there's no difference,
Between the lies and complements.
It's all the same if everybody leaves her.
And every magazine tells her she's not good enough,
The pictures that she sees make her cry.

And she would change everything, everything just ask her.
Caught in the in between of beautiful disaster,All she needs is someone to take her home

She's giving boys what they want, tries to act so nonchalant,
Afraid they'll see that she's lost her direction.
She never stays the same for long,
Assuming that she'll get it wrong.
Perfect only in her imperfection.

I love  this verse. I guess some of us are so worried about ourselves being not perfect enough and we do everything just so we can please others, and in the process, I guess sacrificing what we personally want for ourselves. I guess sometimes, we just need that someone to tell us that it is okay to be imperfect, it is okay to be ourselves and not what everyone else wants us to be. This song tells us that through a beautiful melody.

She's not a drama queen,
She doesn't want to feel this way, only seventeen but tired
She would change everything for happy ever after
Caught in the in between of beautiful disaster,
But she just needs someone to take her home.

Cuz she's just the way she is, but no ones told her that's ok.
And she would change everything, everything just ask her.
Caught in the in between of beautiful disaster,
And she would change everything for happy ever after.
Caught in the in between of beautiful disaster,
But she just needs someone to take her home

Jon McLaughlin sings some of the best songs and I really love how he brings emotions into his singing. Sometimes you don't feel the singers when they sing but Jon McLaughlin is one of those who fills his songs with heartfelt emotions - oh well, at least that is what I think.

Check this video out. It's really simple but it indirectly tells us that everyone is special and unique in their own ways. This vid really kinda rock! I love how something so simple can be so deep at the same time. Enjoy~
